As the creator of the P3 (Precision, Power, Prevention) hands-on workshop, my mission is to empower dental hygiene professionals at every stage of their careers by providing a safe, supportive space to develop new skills, refine existing techniques, and regain confidence. I am dedicated to fostering lifelong learning, professional growth, and clinical excellence.

Types of P3 Event
Immersive flagship workshops and focused mini-events designed to empower dental hygienists at every stage.

Flagship P3 Events
Flagship P3 events are immersive, full-day or multi-day workshops held exclusively in Maryland each November, with additional sessions as needed (most recently in April 2025).
Format: One or two days, each offering eight hours of intensive, hands-on training led by expert instructors.
Curriculum: Every event is unique, evolving based on participant feedback and course evaluations to introduce new clinical skills and topics. Past subjects include hand instrumentation, local anesthesia, air polishing, ultrasonics, dental materials, lasers, radiology, oral cancer screening, and myofunctional therapy.
Experience: These events are intentionally intense and comprehensive, designed to foster deep skill development in a safe, supportive environment.
Focus: Empowerment is central—helping clinicians regain passion and confidence,
master both foundational and advanced techniques, and integrate prevention and
profitability into daily practice.
Continuous Evolution: Since our first event in November 2022, we have continually refined and adapted our approach. No two flagship events are ever the same, ensuring
value for both new and returning participants.

Mini P3 Events
Mini P3s are condensed versions of the flagship program, offered throughout the year in a variety of settings including dental conferences, local study clubs, and hygiene association meetings.
Format: Typically three to four hours, focusing on select clinical skills and preventive strategies.
Curriculum: Includes hands-on elements and practical information, but is less intensive
and more targeted than the flagship events.
Experience: Ideal for attendees seeking focused learning and skill refreshers within a
shorter timeframe.
Focus: Delivers valuable, actionable insights and practical skill-building, while
maintaining the supportive and empowering spirit of the flagship program.
Mini P3s extend the reach of the program, offering accessible, focused opportunities for skill development in a variety of professional settings. Ensuring every clinician has a safe space to learn, grow, and reignite their passion for dental hygiene.

No other hands-on workshop for dental hygienists matches the depth, innovation, and personal touch of P3 because no one does it like Dr. Joy. While hands-on workshops for dental hygienists are rare, P3 is truly one of a kind: continually reinvented, deeply personal, and unmatched in its ability to empower and inspire. It is an experience that simply cannot be duplicated.

The evolution of P3
Innovation, responsiveness, and a relentless commitment to empowering dental hygienists.
P3 began in November 2022 with a two-day hybrid launch—lectures and live-streamed sessions. While innovative, it became clear something more distinctive was needed.
By November 2023, P3 transformed into a fully hands-on, one-day intensive workshop. This new focus attracted participants from across the U.S., including Arizona, with intimate groups of 20–25 ensuring a highly personalized experience.
In 2024, P3 sold out at 50 participants and introduced clinical stations for air polishing, ultrasonics, and anesthesia. However, limited space and content overload revealed new challenges.
In April 2025, P3 refined its approach at a larger venue—more time per station, structured timelines, and individualized learning goals. Real-time curriculum adjustments kept the experience participant-centered.
Now, the upcoming October 31–November 1, 2025 flagship expands to two days, adding radiology, oral cancer screenings, and myofunctional training—directly shaped by feedback.
